02 explorer no door lock.

2002 ford explorer door ajar problem fixed. On the 2011 2018 ford explorer the passenger fuse panel is located under the instrument panel to the left of the steering column. The common problem is that the switch is not closed this will cause your dome lite to be on door ajar light on and will malfunction any aftermarket auto alarm. Turn the ignition to off.

Turn the ignition back to on. Ford explorer since 1995 has been using an in door switch for the door jamb. Average failure mileage is 95 400 miles. Press the power door unlock control three times.

Press the power door lock button once and listen for the horn to beep one time. Two beeps one short and one long signals that the auto locks have been enabled so if you receive two beeps start the process over again. The horn will chirp. Approximately 1 year after purchase started developing a crack on the panel beneath the rear window.

No door is opened but the doors refuse to lock and the warning light stays on. My 02 ford explorer power door locks just up and quit all at the same time. The horn will chirp once if auto lock was deactivated or twice one short and one long chirp if auto lock was activated. Older versions used a plunger that you could easily test with with your fingers.
