Lately the power door locks are acting funny. Easy to use parts catalog. The astro is generally reliable but like any aging vehicle a host of nettlesome maintenance problems have cropped up including power door lock issues. There are two similar relays next to the turn signal flasher located by the steering column but these don t seem to effect the door locks.

I replaced the door actuator on the passenger side but now the driver s door won t work the hatch is stuck shut on one side the headlights will occasionally not come on automatically and the abs light will occasionally come on. Sometimes all the locks on all the doors lock and then unlock several times by themselves. But the worst thing is that when i push the button on the rear door to open it all the locks immediately lock including the one on the rear door so i can t open it. Oh some cars that have electric locking systems have a sensor in the driver side door lock so when you push the lock down on the driver door it makes all the doors lock so if this sensor is malfunctioning it can cause the doors to lock and unlock unexpectedly i ve had this happen before what you can do and this can be done at home though it is easier to have a dealer do it i d do.

Also at the same time of latch problem power lock swiches in front doors stopped working but remote will open all the doors except back hatch. Background built from 1985 to 2005 the chevy astro was extensively overhauled in 1995. My 2002 astro van door locks will not fully operate. I imagine the repair is similar for other vehicles.
